When Spanish monks discovered the cleansing and healing properties of Palo Santo wood, they named the tree "Palo Santo," which means "holy wood." While some incense herbs are only used to cleanse a space of negative energy, others are used to attract positive energy afterward. Palo Santo is rare because it does both simultaneously. The trees are very rare and therefore are not cut down.
