Organic lemongrass essential oil is extracted from the fresh or partially dried leaves of Cymbopogon citratus, also known as "oilgrass," by steam distillation. This oil is said to combat fatigue and refresh a tired body and mind. It is also a pleasantly fragrant remedy for keeping pets free of fleas and ticks. Lemongrass contains citral, the primary aromatic compound in lemon peel. Lemongrass oil is said to relieve jet lag, headaches, nervous exhaustion, and stress. It strengthens the parasympathetic nervous system, ensuring faster recovery and stimulating glandular secretions. It strengthens muscles and tissues, thus relieving muscle pain. It is useful for sore throats, laryngitis, and fever, and helps stop the spread of infection. It helps with colitis, indigestion, and gastrointestinal inflammation.
